Position Summary:
Primary objective
· To produce design and drawings for electrical systems for the assigned project (s).
Specific objectives
· Site survey and data collection for design.
· Preparation of detailed design drawings based on discussions, sketches, plans or other design / specification and vendor drawings.
· Preparation of Single line diagrams, Control schemes, interconnection diagrams and Block diagrams.
· Preparation of electrical layouts for substations and switchrooms
· Preparation of electrical layouts for power, earthing, and lighting
· Preparation of hazardous area classification layouts
· Preparation of typical Installation details
· Preparation of MTO, Power & Control Cable schedules, I/O schedule, load list, etc.
· Calculations for cable sizing, lighting, voltage drop
· Conversant with design & detailing for HV substations of voltage level minimum 33 kV.

Specific accountabilities
· Ability to work within a team environment with minimum of supervision.
· Familiarity with international codes and standards.
· Ability to take on responsibility for the design and drafting of electrical installation for the assigned project
· Ability to coordinate with design team of other disciplines for inter-disciplinary interaction.
· Ability to co-ordinate with client & contractor for discussions and data collection as required.
· Ability to plan and schedule work for a given project.
· Quality Assurance – Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the company Quality Assurance system. Familiarity in discipline internal checks, squad checks for deliverables.
Skills/experience
Essential
· 10 plus years experience in the design and drafting of electrical systems and drawings
· Familiarity with offshore and onshore oil and gas facilities
· Excellent computer skills with AutoCAD or Micro station, excellent skills with MS Excel, MS Word, MS Access,
· Ability to create accurate design drawings from base project information
Desirable
· Experience with 3D modelling systems such as PDS or PDMS

· Diploma (3 year course) in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
· Very self motivated, Inventive design skills, Drafting, Layout and Graphical Skills, Budget and achievement focused. Team Leadership ability.
